Kept Short on Purpose

Cookie Policy

A small, one-person site doesn't need a cookie policy written like a large company's, so this one isn't. Here's what cookies actually do on OracleSanctum, plainly, and what changes the day that stops being simple.

Last Updated: July 28, 2026

Essential

Keep the booking form, login, and payment flow working securely. The site doesn't function properly without these.

Analytics

Basic, aggregate usage information — which tools and articles people actually use — so I can improve the site rather than guess.

Preference

Remember small things like whether you're logged in or have already dismissed a notice, so the site doesn't ask twice.

1. What a Cookie Actually Is

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. It's how a site remembers you between page loads — that you're logged in, that a form you started is still there, that you don't need to be asked the same question twice.

2. What OracleSanctum Uses Cookies For

  • Keeping you logged in — so your subscription, saved chart, or booking history stays associated with your account as you navigate the site.
  • Security — protecting the booking form and payment flow from cross-site abuse.
  • Basic analytics — understanding, in aggregate, which tools and articles are actually being used, so I can improve what's here rather than guess.
  • Remembering preferences — small things, like whether you've already seen a particular notice.

That's the entire list today. There's no cookie on this site quietly building an advertising profile of you right now — see Section 4 for the honest exception on the horizon.

3. Third-Party Cookies Already in Use

A few functions on the site rely on outside services that may set their own cookies as part of doing their job:

  • Payment processors — Flutterwave and PayPal may set cookies during the checkout step itself, governed by their own policies rather than this one.
  • Embedded video, where an article includes one, may load a cookie from the video platform it comes from.

4. Advertising Cookies Not Currently Active

There is no advertising on OracleSanctum today, and no advertising cookies are currently running. I'm stating plainly what I'm actually considering: adding advertising through a network such as Google AdSense or Ezoic in the future, shown only to visitors who are not logged in and not subscribers.

If that becomes real, this section will be rewritten the same day — naming the actual network, what its cookies do, and how to opt out of personalized ads through that network's own settings. I'd rather you find an honest "not yet" here than a vague policy written to cover something that was quietly turned on without updating this page.

5. Managing Cookies

You're always free to control or clear cookies through your own browser settings. Doing so may log you out or reset a preference, but it won't stop you from using the free tools this site is built around.

ChromeSettings → Privacy and Security → Cookies
FirefoxSettings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
SafariSettings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
EdgeSettings → Cookies and Site Permissions

6. Changes to This Policy

This page will be updated the moment anything here stops being accurate — most importantly, the day advertising cookies actually go live. Material changes are posted with a new date rather than folded in quietly.

A Short Policy, on Purpose

A one-person site with no ad network live yet doesn't need three pages explaining cookies. It needs one honest one — and an update the day that changes.
